Today in class, we continued to focus on evaluating characters. Class began with a mini-lesson reviewing the difference between static, dynamic, flat, and round character using The Outsiders and even What’s the Point? as mentor texts. (See Historical Fiction–Characterization folder–for the files).
We switched gears and read Chapter 3 of Watson’s Go to Birmingham. We informally discussed what types of characters were portrayed in this whole-class novel. After completing Chapter 3, you had the chance to start your Response to Reading prompt.
