Today in class, you were introduced to a new reading signpost: Tough Questions.
A Tough Question is the point in the book when you are reading and a character asked himself/herself a difficult question. When we find this moment in a novel, we want to pause and ask ourselves, What does this question make me wonder about?
We read Chapter 9 of The Outsiders to practice this strategy and recorded additional pieces of evidence from the text to support the common themes.
