Today in class, you were introduced to Smiley Face tricks– a form of elaborating on details with a creative twist. While you may have been familiar with figurative language strategies, you learned about our tricks including: The Magic Three, Specific Details for Effect, the Expanded Moment, Repetition for Effect, Humor, Full Circle Endings, and the hyphenated modifier.
After learning these new tricks, you were encouraged to attempt to include at least three different smiley face tricks in your narrative draft.
As we did with zooming in on small details and narration with dialogue, you typed 11/2 Smiley Face tricks underneath your documented changes on the bottom of the Google Doc. You added these into your writing in the designated class color.
